Hi, my name is Samantha Deal

I am a dedicated Early Childhood Educator from Knoxville, TN with experience spanning two decades. Throughout my journey, I have had the privilege of working closely with infants, toddlers, and their families while fostering meaningful connections within the early childhood community. My passion for early childhood development has led me to specialize in the RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) and Reggio Emilia approaches, two related teaching methods that resonate deeply with my belief of respecting the unique capabilities and perspectives of each child. Embracing these innovative methodologies, I strive to create environments for children that encourage exploration, curiosity, and the natural unfolding of each child’s potential.

Since making Atlanta home, I have served as a pedagogista at a Reggio-inspired school, supported teachers and educational leadership through relationship-based coaching, and led parent-child play classes with each experience deepening my understanding of what it means to truly nurture a learning community. Nurtured Community Early Learning Center is the realization of something I have been building toward for a long time — a place where children are truly seen, families feel genuinely at home, and educators are supported to do their most meaningful work.

My journey as an Early Childhood Educator is a testament to an unwavering dedication to the growth and well-being of the little ones I have had the privilege to nurture and will nurture. I am excited to continue this journey, with families and fellow educators, as we embark on the rewarding adventure of early care and education together.

When we slow down and really watch children, they show us everything we need to know.

COLLABORATION

Working Alongside One Another At Nurtured Community, we believe the best things happen when we work together. Collaboration isn't a strategy, it's a disposition. It's the way we sit with families, think alongside educators, and follow the lead of children. When we bring our perspectives together, we build something none of us could build alone.

At Nurtured Community Early Learning Center, I've found a place where the values I carry most deeply — respect for children, genuine partnership with families, and joy in everyday learning — aren't just aspirations. They're the foundation we build on together, every day.

Finding a home for this vision

CONNECTION

The Heart of Everything We Do Connection is where learning begins. Before curriculum, before milestones, before any of the visible work of education — there is relationship. We tend to the connections between children and their families, between children and their teachers, and between all of us and the natural world we share. These bonds are not the backdrop to our work. They are the work.

NURTURE

Caring for the Whole Community To nurture is to pay attention to what a child needs in this moment, to what a family is carrying, to what an educator needs to feel supported and seen. At Nurtured Community, nurturing isn't reserved for the children alone. It extends to every person who walks through our doors, because we know that when people feel cared for, they are free to grow.
